Forklift-Mounted Vehicle PCs for Warehouse WMS: Wansi Home Case Study

A warehouse tablet only earns its place if the software runs on it. Wansi Home met the opposite problem: its warehouse management system had been iterated, and the rugged tablets already on the forklifts could no longer keep up – they lagged and overheated.

The company replaced them with the TERVEX V10J, a 10.1-inch Windows vehicle-mounted PC installed in TCM electric forklift cabs with a ball-joint and connecting-rod bracket.

Challenge: Legacy Rugged Tablets Could Not Keep Up With New Software

The previously deployed rugged tablets were not perfectly compatible with the iterated software, exposing a series of issues such as insufficient performance and overheating.

Because the terminal is the operator's only interface to the WMS, a lagging or overheating device stops the forklift instead of merely slowing it down.

Solution: V10J Vehicle PCs Mounted in TCM Electric Forklifts

The V10J is securely installed in the TCM electric forklift cab through a ball joint and connecting rod, supporting multi-angle rotation so the screen can be positioned for the operator.

Equipped with the warehouse management system, it receives task instructions, obtains data such as cargo information and inventory status, and connects to the server over WiFi to give real-time feedback on task status.

The built-in GPS function of the V10J helps locate the forklift's current position and, combined with the warehousing system, intelligently plans the optimal operating path.

A barcode scanner is connected over Bluetooth to identify warehouse cargo barcodes quickly, achieving data collection and automatic system integration.

The mounting matters as much as the device: the ball joint and connecting rod hold the screen at the angle the operator needs, which is important when the same forklift is used by different drivers across shifts.

Results: Closed-Loop Task Handling From Instruction to Feedback

Excellent performance and compatibility, plus a large-area heat-dissipation fin design, significantly improved the earlier problems of inconvenient operation, system lag and poor heat dissipation.

With the built-in WiFi module and GPS function, and Bluetooth support for an external barcode scanner, the V10J closes the loop from task reception to result feedback and raises overall efficiency.

The body is portable yet sturdy and durable, with IP65 protection and automotive-grade vibration testing, and it operates stably from -20°C to 60°C.

FAQ

They were not fully compatible with the iterated warehouse management software and showed insufficient performance and overheating, which is why the site replaced them with the V10J.

The V10J runs the WMS on the forklift, connects to the server over WiFi and feeds task status back in real time, with GPS helping to plan the optimal operating path.

Yes. A Bluetooth barcode scanner connects to the V10J, so cargo barcodes are identified quickly and the data is integrated into the system automatically.
